AS-100 JROTC P.E.



(generally Freshmen or those who need PE) This co-educational, non-traditional,  core credit PE course is taught by JROTC. Students are not required to dress out every day. This is a first year JROTC course designed to acquaint students with non-traditional Physical Education such as ultimate Frisbee, swimming at the YMCA, team-building, archery, land navigation, group leadership projects, capture the flag, pickle ball, orienteering, volleyball, dodge ball, soccer and dictator baseball.

Credit: 1.0 credit Physical Education - This class meets the AZ Physical Education credit standards.
Prerequisites:  None  (Grade of C or better to continue to semester two) 
Fee:  $10.00 per year for lock and towel. Students provide athletic shoes. PE clothes and sweats are 
provided by JROTC.

This co-educational, non-traditional PE course is taught by the Air Force Junior ROTC unit at PHS. Students are not required to dress out every day. This is a first year AJFROTC course designed to acquaint students with non-traditional Physical Education such as ultimate Frisbee, swimming at the YMCA, team building, archery, land navigation, group leadership projects, capture the flag, pickle ball, orienteering, volleyball, dodge ball, soccer and dictator baseball. Students are encouraged to go on free curriculum-in-action field trips. First year students are not required to wear USAF blue uniforms or maintain USAF grooming standards. First year students are required to wear professional clothing on uniform days (Monday), which would be appropriate for a job interview. 2nd, 3rd, 4th year students wear a designated USAF uniform. All AFJROTC students must maintain United States Air Force professional maturity and courtesy standards. Health is taught throughout the year as part of the overall curriculum.
