Syllabus

(generally Sophomores or those that need US/AZ history credit) This Arizona core credit history course is taught by state history accredited JROTC instructors covers the History of the United States / Arizona beginning with native societies up to current events. Blended within the curriculum are a Journey into Aviation History and a USAF Leadership Education curriculum of communication, awareness, and leadership. Students are offered the opportunity to go on at least one free curriculum-in-action field trip.

9-12, yearlong 1.0 Social Studies credit
Prerequisites: None  (Grade of D or better to continue to semester two)
Fee: $10 (Pays for unit T-shirt, uniform cleaning, etc.)  This class meets the US/AZ Social Studies credit standards.

This core credit course is taught by the Air Force Junior ROTC unit at PHS.  The course covers the History of the United States / Arizona beginning with European settlement in the Americas. Blended within the curriculum are Journey into Aviation History and USAF curriculum on communication, awareness, and leadership. Students are required to go on at least one free curriculum-in-action field trip. 

First year students are not required to wear USAF blue uniforms or maintain USAF grooming 
standards. First year students are required to wear professional clothing on uniform days (Monday)that would be appropriate for a job interview.  2nd, 3rd, 4th year students wear a designated USAF uniform. All AFJROTC students must maintain United States Air Force professional maturity and courtesy standards.
